Thought
Grasping water
On this page
Detachment is difficult because the mind loves to cling.
It seeks permanence and certainty where there is none.
We attach ourselves to things, people, and ideas, believing they will complete us.
Yet, all things arise and pass away.
The heart struggles against this truth, fearing emptiness, but emptiness is the true nature of all things.
Clinging is like grasping water, it will always slip through your fingers.
To detach is not to abandon life, but to live freely within it.
When you release the need to hold on, you discover that nothing was yours to begin with.
In letting go, you find peace, as you already are whole.
